Welcome to Lighthouse Point

Just north of Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful city called Lighthouse Point.  It is a favorite place to live if you are an avid boater. Its name comes from the nearby Lighthouse.  Residents with almost any size boat have access to the ocean and 18 miles of waterways meander throughout the city.  Charter captains will take you out for deep sea fishing or for luxury yacht excursions.  Boats, the intracoastal waterway and the ocean help define this beautiful city.

Homes in Lighthouse Point range widely in price.  Many homes offer boat dockage with varying size. Because of the primo location on the waterfront, many older homes have been torn down and replaced by stunning “tropical” Florida style homes.

Lighthouse Point has several beautiful parks with greenspace and more.  Frank McDonough Park has 9 clay tennis courts and a pro shop.  Tennis lessons are offered.  There is also an outdoor sand volleyball court, 4 racquetball courts, football, baseball and soccer fields and a covered playground for the youngsters.  The Dan Witt Park offers about the same but also has a refreshment area and covered pavilion.

As you can imagine, seafood restaurants are popular.  These include: Papa’s Raw Bar, Bonefish Mac’s, Nauti Dawg.  You are a hop and a skip to nearby Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach and Boca Raton so there is no lack of restaurant and shopping fun.  The arts and theatre venues abound.

The private Lighthouse Point Yacht Club is for yachtsmen and boating enthusiasts. Near the Intracoastal Waterway, Hillsboro Inlet and the Ocean, it is very desired.  The Yacht Club has full-service facilities and a dockside staff ready to meet boating and fishing needs. A major renovation is planned. The Club has a restaurant and party areas, fitness center and spa, heated Junior Olympic size pool, tennis courts and on-site tennis, health, fitness and swimming professionals.

The Club’s marina accommodates sport fishing craft and yachts from 30 to 120 feet and the marina is well maintained and staffed.  Though members can only obtain permanent dockage, travelling yachtsmen can take advantage on a transient basis.  The Marina has been the highest 5 star rated marina on the East Coast over consecutive years.
