The City of Boca Raton is noteworthy for its Mediterranean Revival architecture, a style prevalent since the 1920s and kept alive in the downtown area and in its communities.

 

This Mediterranean style of wrought iron, tile roofs, and inspired curved arches was the vision of Addison Mizner, a local architect.

On North Ocean Boulevard or A1A, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center covers twenty acres inhabited by osprey, brown pelicans, and sea turtles.
