Boca Raton

Boca Raton perhaps represents the best of “the Gold Coast” with its beautiful oceanfront.

Welcome to Boca Raton

Boca Raton perhaps represents the best of “the Gold Coast” with its beautiful oceanfront, Intracoastal waterways, and abundance of golf, tennis, white beaches, shopping, and boating opportunities. A truly unique blend of nature preserves, oceanfront condos, luxury oceanfront homes, and resort-style golf and country club communities, and attracts those who want to enjoy the year-round sun, golf, boating, swimming, and tennis opportunities. It is located in Palm Beach County. Boca Raton is home to The Boca Resort and fabulous restaurants. Restaurant Guide!

The City of Boca Raton is noteworthy for its Mediterranean Revival architecture, a style prevalent since the 1920s and kept alive in the downtown area and in its communities.

This Mediterranean style of wrought iron, tile roofs, and inspired curved arches was the vision of Addison Mizner, a local architect.

There are beautiful intracoastal waterways with lovely homes and condos and nature preserves.

On North Ocean Boulevard or A1A, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center covers twenty acres inhabited by osprey, brown pelicans, and sea turtles. Night turtle-watching tours are offered between May and July; book well in advance. Boca Raton’s most explorable beachside area is Spanish River Park a couple of miles north of downtown. Most of these fifty acres of vivid vegetation and high-rise greenery are only penetrable on trails through shady thickets.

Mediterranean and Spanish-style villas, oceanfront condos, and beautiful homes along meandering stretches of the Intracoastal waterway distinctly define this luxury beachside community on Florida’s Gold Coast. Boca Raton is one of the most desired cosmopolitan destinations for tropical, relaxed, and upscale beach living.

Boca Raton’s architecture has been heavily inspired by Addison Mizner, Florida’s leading architect in the 1920s, who established his own unique Spanish and Mediterranean Revival style that became the architectural signature of Florida. He created the luxury resort community ambiance that truly transformed Palm Beach and South Florida. He also designed the famous “pink hotel” – The Boca Raton Resort and Club in 1925 which still draws many to savor its lush grounds and beautifully designed buildings. Read more about Addison Mizner.

Experience long stretches of pristine white sugar sand beaches, palm trees, and magenta bougainvillea flowers. Curved entrance arches, open floor spaces, tall ceilings, arched and tall rectangular windows court ocean breezes, and natural sunlight.

Boca Raton’s cosmopolitan beachy character has been nurtured through the years by visionaries who relished luxury home style, architectural aesthetics, and beach life.

Restaurants, wonderful shopping, and easy access to the theatre attract those seeking a wonderful blend of the tropics in a cosmopolitan small city environment. Boca Raton is about 35 minutes from both the Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale airports. It is an easy 2-hour drive to Florida’s west coast – Naples, Ft. Myers, and Marco Island.

Boca Raton has so much to offer residents. There are many golf courses in the area – public and private; fine restaurants everywhere with all types of food; shopping is abundant in the way of chic boutiques to elegant Towne Center Mall which hosts Saks, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, and Nordstrom. If a beach club suits your lifestyle there are several to choose from. People have favorite spots in Boca from Towne Center to Mizner Park.

We locals tend to think of Boca Raton in sections: East Boca (by the beach); Central Boca (near Towne Center Mall) and West Boca (the last area for any development – near State Route 7 also called 441). The closer you go to the beach the more you will pay generally for a home. All areas have gated and non-gated areas. Some developments are luxury country clubs with equity fees exceeding $50,000 and substantial monthly fees. Some of these include Woodfield Country Club, Broken Sound, Boca West, and The Polo Club (all in central Boca). These clubhouses have pools, top-of-the-line fitness centers, multiple golf courses, restaurants, spas, shops, and more.

The Boca Raton coastline is lined with so many beyond-gorgeous condos. You will find all price ranges and sizes. These sit on pristine beaches walkable each day, If you love the beach, this may be your thing. The beach is relaxing for reading, socializing, skimboarding, surfing, sailing, boating, and fishing.
